For that reason, Montaione, which is a member of the Association Città del Tartufo, every year during the last week of October, celebrate the white truffle with an event at the end of October.
Also Honey and Mushrooms together with chestnuts are only some of the typical products od our territory in addition to junket and cheeses made by the milk of our cattle. Are also famous the quality sausages like "soprassata", "finocchiona" and tuscan salami, most of them produced by "Cinta Senese", a special kind of pork breeded in the surrounding of Montaione, and vintage in Tuscany.
It is important not to forget the Tuscan bread that doesn't contain salt and that was once hand-kneaded and cooked in ovens fed by firewood. Nowadays, even if the production needs some changes, it does still stay the unchangeable quality of home-made bread, unique in its flavour. For that reason Montaione is member of the Association Città del Pane.
Moreover, the wide variety of wild animals (like hares, pheasants, wild boars, woodcocks) and farm animals ( rabbits, chickens, ducks) enriches the table in every period of the year.

It's important to mention, that Montaione is also famous for the working of onix, even if the quarry in Iano from where it was extracted this precious stone has been closed. Of particular importance, finally, the decoration of ceramics, which embellishes terracotta vases, plates and ornaments of every kind.
