Other elements that characterize the recipes of Montaione's cooking are the valuable White Truffle, the olive oil and the excellent Chianti wine that is here produced, together with some other kinds of white wine.
Montaione has a big variety of cakes from the peasant traditions. They change according to the rhythm of the seasons and the public or church holidays: there are Schiacciata di Pasqua (Easter Cake), Schiacciata con l'Uva (Grape Cake) and Castagnaccio (a sweet made of chestnut flour).
