The locality San Vivaldo is famous because of the Holy Mount, also called the "Jerusalem of Tuscany", a place rich in history, art and religion.
Not far from the Monastery and the Holy Mount, lies the village of San Vivaldo mentioned the first time in a document dating back to the sixteenth century, by the captain of Guelph Party, which certifies the existence of the Church, the Convent and some houses scattered nearby.
In a document dated back to 1830 (the general cadastral map of Tuscnay) showed that there were all the houses of the old hamlet, deployed along the road.
Following the development of the art of glass, which made Montaione famous throughout Tuscany, and in a census in 1861, in San Vivaldo, lived many master glassmakers to the point that was the locality with the lowest rate of illiteracy.
In the early 1900s in San Vivaldo there are two oil mills, a mill, a tobacconist and two brick kilns.
San Vivaldo is still inhabited, many houses have been renovated and divided into apartments for rent to tourists and there is a pizza restaurant while the old school has been closed.
Still today, San Vivaldo is a mystical corners located in the peace of the Tuscan countryside.
