Leaving Castelfalfi you pass on your right an old tobacco house, which today is the seat of the Reception of Tenuta di Castelfalfi. Turn left into the dirt road Poggetta, in good conditions, which gently goes downhill and meets, first on your left and than on your right, two abandoned farms.

Going on you will find the valley on your right while on your left you have the charming view of Castelfalfi and its lake. After the stock farm La Collina you find a crossroads: leave the dirt road and take a side path on your left. This part of the track is practicable during summer; after strong rains instead, its conditions can be bad, because of the clayey soil. The path follows the ridge from where we can see the typical Tuscan hill, characterized by a natural bushy vegetation and^ cultivated fields with wheat. Passing by a cypress tree on a'-bend, the road goes uphill to Collerucci, an old abandoned farm, which is near the border of the municipal area.

Then you go downhill and find other farms: the first called II Casone is characterized by a very old plough in front of the house and the second one called La Casanova is characterized by two very big nut trees, located under Collerucci's house. After Casanova you have to cross the river Roglio and go uphill into the wood. At the top of the uphill turn left and go along a vineyard on your right. Than go into the wood again and follow correctly the signals because there are a lot of side paths which goes to hunting huts. Going out the wood you can have a beautiful view on the valley.

Continue on the road that goes up along a metallic enclosure and then turn left in a downhill road. In this part of the track you have a wonderful view on the cultivated hills rich in old abandoned farms, which testifies the strong rural tradition of the area. Following the track you arrive at La Costia (11 km from the start), an interesting house made of bricks that still preserves the ancient, structure. From here the path goes uphill until Iano. Then you pass near two olive trees and on your left you can observe the eroded hills typical of Tuscany, badlands, which are usually found in clayey soils. Than you cross a little wood and turning right you arrive in Iano, near Ie Monache farm.
