VisitMontaione.com is pleased to present the calendar of events and festivals that will take place in Montaione during the Christmas holidays.

It starts with Saturday, December 5 at 16.30 in the Town Hall with a promotion and tasting of wine in collaboration with the Tuscany Region and “Slow Food”.
On 6 December in Piazza della Repubblica from 9:30 to 19:30 will be the turn of the extraordinary market with many items and gift ideas to buy.
On 8 December for the Feast of the Immaculate and until the end of December, in locality Iano will be displayed cribs with tasting of homemade cakes.
On 13 December in the historical centre of Montaione, organized by Borgoalto, will take place the Christmas market, while December 18 will be the turn of the handicraft market.
Saturday, December 19th at the Scipione Ammirato Theatre, will take place at 21.30 the traditional Christmas concert of the Philharmonic G. Donizetti.
On Christmas Eve, December 24, the band of Montaione will march in the historic centre of Montaione, in the presence of Santa Claus to the delight of all children, while at 01:00 on 25 December to celebrate Christmas will be offered “vin brulè” to all .
On 27 December, at the Scipione Ammirato Theatre, the choral group L’Ajone will wish a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year with music and carols.
For those who want to celebrate the New year’s Eve outdoors in the centre of Montaione, you can not miss Pazza Piazza. Starting from 22.00 you can listen to music, dancing together and enjoy the new year.
On 6 January, the Epiphany is celebrated in the centre of Montaione.

Next weekend will take place in Piazza della Repubblica and in the streets of the historic centre of Montaione the traditional autumn festival dedicated to local products: Pane e Olio (Bread and Oil).
Pane e Olio is an event organized by farmers of Montaione that for the occasion propose tastings of their best products like extra virgin olive oil, different qualities wine and of the famous bread of Montaione made without salt as the old tradition of the Tuscan bread.
If you do not know what to do or where to go next weekend, come to visit in Montaione the festival of Pane e Olio, where in addition to enjoy the afternoon, you will find maybe some “genuine” ideas  to make some gifts ahead of Christmas.

Next weekend, Sunday 25th of  October will take place in Montaione the eighteenth festival of white truffle and local products. The event will begin at 10.00am with the opening of the food stands at Villa Serena and in the historical centre that will propose tasting of typical products such as wine, olive oil, grappa, cheese and of course the prized white truffle of Montaione.
In the streets of the historical centre will be located some stands with antique items, clothing and food products from Tuscany. In the afternoon, at Villa Serena, a demonstration will be performed an excavation of truffles and later there will be the parade of the Filarmonica G. Donizetti, the Band of Montaione.
In the late afternoon there will be a performance by the flag bearers of the “Cavalieri di Camporena.

In Tuscany, the flavours of food, the smells of the typical products and the art of handicrafts have ancient origins. The fertility of the territory has encouraged a flourishing agriculture and thanks to the continued work and passion of local people, today, you can taste genuine products and admire craft products.
The fair which was held yesterday in the centre of Montatone, was dedicated to local products and crafts of Valdelsa. This event has attracted lots of visitors together with many tourist spend their summer holidays in Montaione.
It has been possible to taste some typical products like porchetta and Tuscan ham, sauces and hand made pasta. The master craftsmen displayed their items such as the famous knives of Scarperia, objects in olive wood and other items to furnish the house, as well as some articles of bigiotteria.
People who love typical products and handicrafts and have missed this event will be able to see the video or participate to the next events that will take place in Valdelsa, in particular in Empoli on 9 July, in Certaldo on 22 July and Castelfiorentino on 29 July.

Tomorrow, June 2, from 9am to 23 hours will be held in Montaione the Promotional Fair with antiques and crafts market, an event that is part of the events calendar of summer montaionese, organized by BorgoAlto association.
The Promotional Fair with antiques and crafts market is an opportunity not only to do shopping buying clothes, shoes, household items and many natural products produced by farms of Valdelsa and Montaione territory, but also to know and enjoy the traditions of Tuscan culture.
