In autumn the months of October, November and December, are definitely the most important for the countryside.
Autumn is the time when it runs - in addition to the harvest of olives and grapes -, the collection of truffles. Perhaps not everyone knows that Montaione is located in one of the richest areas of Truffles of Tuscany and Italy and is part of the “Associazione Città del Tartufo”, an association that has as its main purpose the protection and enhancement of Italian culture of truffle.
The white truffle or “Tuber magnatum Pico”, is the most precious and it is collects from October to November, while the Black Truffle is collected from November to March / April.
During this period every year, Montaione celebrates this valuable product of the earth by organizing a festival dedicated to the tasting and the discovery of the truffle.
Even this year next Sunday 26 October 2008 will take place the traditional exhibition and festival of truffle and chestnut, an event the truffle lovers and those who want to know more about this product cannot miss. During the month of October the restaurants in Valdelsa - including those of Montaione – will prepare dishes with truffles and tasting menu with typical local products.
Staying in one of the many farmhouses, bed and breakfast, holiday homes and hotels of Tuscany, perhaps taking advantage of a short holiday or weekend, truffle lovers will be able to participate - in addition to the exhibition of truffle Montaione - also at the following events: Volterragusto 1 and Nov. 2 at Volterra 35 km from Montaione, or the fair XXXVIII Nazionale del Tartufo Bianco di San Miniato that will take place the weekend of 15/16, 22/23 and 29/30 November in a San Miniato at only 20 km from Montaione.

It took place yesterday in the historical centre of Montaione the Feast of Misericordia and of the End of Summer, which concludes the Calendar of Summer Montaionese 2008.
The festival has began the morning with the fishing for charities and the Holy Mass at 11.30. In the afternoon took place games for children joy and tasting of cakes prepared by expert cooks of Montaione, all accompanied by the music of the Philharmonic Donizetti who presented some pieces of its repertoire, while at 21.00 took place the concert of Sonia Colca.
The profit from the festival was intended for the purchase of a new transport for social services.

Last Wednesday, August 27, 2008 in Piazza della repubblica, in the historic centre of Montaione was planned an event of the Calendar Estate Montaionese called “Ballando sotto le Stelle” Dancing under the stars.
In warm evening of August, cheerful music has animated the village of Montaione, allowing couples, more or less young people dancing and having fun under the stars.
It was possible to dance with modern Italian and foreign music, as well as revival, valzer, cha-cha-cha, group dances… in an atmosphere of fun.

Alberto Montagnani in art Mons was born on 26 July 1973 in Siena in Tuscany. A few months later, the family moved in Montaione, the province of Florence, where Alberto attended the public music school learning “solfeggio” followed by the study of “quartino”.
He composes some jingle for local radio, this let him to be known in the Florentine music ambient while in 1989 comes as bassist to join for some evenings, Goppions, a rock group by Irene Grandi. He continue to study singing and acoustic guitar, showing a particular interest in American folk music, blues and country and the finger-picking technique which is a true master developing an original style.
His artistic ability gave him the opportunity to appear on television participating in television programmes like ” Il futuro?…è uno show”, “Sarà ora?”, “Mediterraneo Festival” and “La fabbrica della musica ” where showing his abilities as a singer and musician.
In 2007, leaves the album “Il Bambino delle Fragole” with 12 songs that represent a mixture of folk music, pop, country, merged together by the skilful of this true Italian singer.
On 26 August he played in Piazza della Repubblica in Montaione, an event that is part of the Events Calendar of Summer Montaionese 2008 by attracting not only many fans but also many tourists that are still on holiday in Montaione interested to listen this local singer.

The Toscana Jazz Festival is a series of concerts dedicated to jazz music that take place in various towns of Tuscany throughout the summer. In Tuscany Jazz Festival perform musical groups, whose artists are well known nationally and internationally, presenting jazz music in its wide exception proposal also with Latin and modern rhythmic variations. The Tuscany Jazz Festival begins today in Montaione in Piazza della Repubblica to 21.30.
The festival includes three evenings of concerts during which perform three bands: “Mad Loredana Lubrano & Orchestra”, “The Tropical mood” and “Andrea Valeri” that despite his young age has an important musical experience. Tuesday, July 29, performs Loredana Lubrano & Mad Orchestra, a band composed of 5 entries, 3 and 5 brass elements of rhythm that suggests music mixed with jazz melodies and Neapolitan rhythmic. Wednesday July 30 it was the turn of The Tropical mood, a quintet that plays latin jazz music, while Thursday, July 31 Andrea Valeri will presents its music playing the guitar with the technique “finger style”.
